The capital of Spain, Madrid, is located in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula. It’s a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, where you can see the remains of an Arab wall or skyscrapers hundreds of metres high that dominate the city skyline.

And of course, the Madrid nightlife, offering thousands of choices of restaurants and bars in areas such as Malasaña, La Latina, Lavapiés or Chueca.

Bilbao is the perfect example of how it has been possible to seamlessly blend the traditional Basque culture with the most complete modernity. It is a city located in the north of Spain in the Basque Country. Its population exploded during its industrialisation and in the 1970s it became a huge grey chimney, but after a serious financial crisis Bilbao began its renaissance. The industrial complexes were demolished and the Guggenheim Museum was built, one of the symbols of the city, designed by the architect Frank Ghery, the Metro which was designed by Norman Foster and the city’s airport, designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava.

In Bilbao you absolutely must visit the Old Town, the most lively and picturesque area of the city, the Arriaga Theatre, the oldest in Bilbao, the Ensanche district with all its shops, bars and restaurants, La Ribera market, the largest covered market in Europe, the Alhóndiga with all its cultural events, the Basilica of Begoña, the Zubizuri bridge and Calatrava bridge, the Campos Elíseos Theatre, and the Museum of Fine Arts.
